Today was a perfect Wyoming day, with fresh snow on the ground, for a Groundbreaking Ceremony. After years of planning and teamwork, the pathway to the Pinedale Elementary School is under construction. The pathway will ultimately run from the American Legion Park, along North Jackson Avenue and then through Trails Creek to the Elementary School. This project is underway because of the team efforts of the Town of Pinedale, Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program, Sublette County Recreation Board, and Sublette County School District #1. Jorgensen Associates are the engineers on the project and Teletractors Inc. are the contractors for the project. The project is expected to be completed in mid-June. Please be aware of construction activities and stay clear of the construction areas.
Mayor Bob Jones explained the pathway process, from planning to construction. The students had several questions about funding and design.
A bridge for pedestrians and bicyclists (and emergency vehicles) will cross Barber Creek. The bridge pilings are going in this week.
Join us on June 14th for a 5K on the new path! Registration will be opening shortly!
