The Town of Pinedale is conducting our annual Water Distribution System flushing program starting Thursday, July 25. The hydrant flushing program typically takes 2-3 weeks to complete and is a very important part of our annual water system maintenance.
The flushing program enhances water quality by removing sediments from mainline pipes, verifies the proper operation of fire hydrants and valves and helps us find weaknesses in our water system.
If you see a crew flushing a hydrant on your street, avoid running tap water and using the washing machine or the dishwasher until the flushing is done. If tap water is used during flushing, it could come out with sediment that causes discoloration. If you encounter discolored water, shut the water off and wait several minutes. After waiting, check the clarity by running cold water for a few minutes, allowing new water to work its way into your pipes. If you have any questions about the flushing program please call Town Hall at 307-367-4136.
